wow judy this is great! i completely agree with her, i thought "i'm strong this is gonna be easy!" but i was definitely scared and in pain and took an ego blow and thought afterward "wow that was so much harder than i had anticipated." oh that ani. she knows what's up. <3

I know what you mean about the ego blow. Turns out the best labor advice I got was from an older coworker, mother of three: "With that kind of pain, you're out of control". Of course, prior to labor and delivery, I thought she was full of shit! But those words came back to me in the moment I needed them and I thought OH YEAH THAT"S WHAT SHE MEANT. And I didn't feel like a failure because dear Ellen had told me the unrosy truth. I hope thanked her later!?
