Today I happened upon this blog (her pictures of her kitchen in Marin made me flash on Kate's beautiful and inviting one, with scents of boxwood and bay...and made me a bit teary) and this post about Furoshiki. I've wondered how to make those origami like wraps for presents. This video shows how to make bags. Click on the picture below to see it bigger.

Wow, thanks for the link Judy, I enjoyed my visit to her blog. One of my sons lives up in Marin and I love the whole "feel" up there. I totally enjoyed her photos.
Hi Sandy...It iS such a good "feel" there, isn't it? It's interesting how different places feel so different from each other. Marin feels magical in a way. I lived in Inverness, out on the Pt.Reyes penninsula briefly in the mid 70's. I rented a little cabin from Kate, who I mention in the post, a former sister in law who has since passed. She and the place both made a lasting impression on me.
I agree about the "magical" feel there. My son lives near Mill Valley and I love the old park there and the roads that wind up through the homes above the park. I could love living there but my pocketbook just won't cooperate. It is so darned expensive.
We are downsizing in the next few months hopefully if we can get our large home sold and I have no idea where we will end up. With the bulk of our grandkids down in the area we live in, we will need to stay close although two of my sweeties are up thre in MIll Valley.
I love it up there! I would let my inner hippie out if I moved there.
