If you stay in Toronto for years...
this is THE boot that you both need! They made me love winter, when I lived in Mass. And Mom, there is a cute video to watch too.

These boots
are the best $13.00 I spent this winter. Used, but never worn. Same as these. I can walk forever in them. And that's just what I did today.

Cydwoq's
I got these boots last Spring, on sale, at Sole Food! I'd wanted Cydwoqs for ten years, every since seeing them at Ped, that is now online, but used to be a great store here in Seattle. I've been breaking them in little by little. They are an amazing piece of work, beautifully made. These pictures are from June, we don't have that desk and shredder any more! (and taken with old iPhone)

I found this video while browsing on Ped's blog today...the owner and designer of the company talking about why he makes shoes:

OMG, shoes!

Flats by Newbark that look like espadrilles, made of leather...and don't make you look like you're ten. Pricey, but nice.

Honestly
I wasn't even trying to shop :). I was just on my errands and walked by this place, where they were having a "moving sale" of all their props for advertising. It was like browsing in Gramma's attic.
Though these boots had a sticker price of $70.00, on the inside of the boot, I recognized a Crossroads tag for $15.00! So they very kindly sold them to me for that. Good, because I only had 20 in cash.
I like how beat up and worn in they are already. And they have a rubber sole, too, good for hills and rain. Aren't they great?

Gosh

these are so adorable. They are out of our size 38! They are like the Converse of France, called Bensimon's.
