Like a diamond in the sky

Simple

These clothes by Uniform Studio,

are so inviting.

Honestly

I wasn't even trying to shop :). I was just on my errands and walked by this place, where they were having a "moving sale" of all their props for advertising. It was like browsing in Gramma's attic.

Though these boots had a sticker price of $70.00, on the inside of the boot, I recognized a Crossroads tag for $15.00! So they very kindly sold them to me for that. Good, because I only had 20 in cash.

I like how beat up and worn in they are already. And they have a rubber sole, too, good for hills and rain. Aren't they great?

Gosh

these are so adorable. They are out of our size 38! They are like the Converse of France, called Bensimon's.

Oh

there were beautiful shadows just as we got off the ferry yesterday evening.

Ashlee,

This is that 2 dollar yard sale vintage blouse I was telling you about on the phone. Oh, the word I couldn't remember is "Toile", for the kind of print. It reminded me of this. I'll wear it belted like that.

More Summer tv

You can watch it online, too. This review on Bitch sums it up well, about having so many of the stereotypes it's message is trying to bust...but the talented cast made the pilot, so far, very enjoyable. It's no Nurse Jackie, true, but it made me laugh.

Found

these cute little jars at Value Village.

and this Jonathan Saunders for Target dress, brand new with tags, and it was a blue tag, half price. It's more about the hunt than the money :).

Last night

the absorption method came to visit again. It is basically cooking pasta in small doses of stock (or water), like the way risotto is cooked, instead of the usual boiling in lots of water method. It does take a bit longer, but the starch from the pasta creates a nice sauce. It was through the Chocolate and Zucchini blog that I learned about this a few years ago...it was this post from 2006, I think. So good! This is corn pasta in the photo. I melted in Marscapone cheese at the end, and of course, Parmesan, adding some cooked brocolli and sausage too.

Electric blue

Hydrangea at the neighbors. Look, a whole book about the color Blue.

I didn't buy this

magazine, but I did snap a pic of this kitchen that looked so beautifully open and simple, yet warm.
