I like seeing your name on the packages, and it means you will soon be here.

Trench

I bought this trench on sale a while ago not knowing that we were going to have such cool weather this Spring and Summer.

Have you guys been to this place?

It's in Toronto!  It looks like you would like it: Terroni.

More houses

The Frank Lloyd Wright post reminded me of this house, by Walter Gropius that we used to pass on the way to a friends house in High School.  It was so striking.

Interesting

quotes in this video of the Frank Lloyd Wright Gordon House in Oregon:

"An idea is salvation by imagination."

"Less is only more when more is not enough."

Summer cut offs

Obsessed

with these pants.  I admit it.  I didn't want to be, but I am.

Heartbreaking

Sister Wolf's sad news about losing her son.  Though we don't know people we read on the internet, we can feel like we do.  Peace, Max...and your mom too.  They came to mind so often last week.  You are in my thoughts and prayers.

So blue

Saturday, June 12, 2010

This looks tasty:

and such pretty photos, from Smitten Kitchen.    Crushed Peas with Smoky Sesame Dressing.

Liking this:

We hardly wear wool coats here in Seattle, what with all the moisture.  I don't even own one any more.  But I'm liking this Women's Wool Timber Jacket from Filson Seattle.  (in Charcoal!)

New tv show

Work of Art.  It's just like Project Runway, with art instead of clothes.  From the snarky reviews, it seems like I'm the only one who liked it, though.  Miles is our favorite.

For Adam:

I love that other roasting one we tried, but it makes so much smoke and get's my oven so dirty that in desperation I googled: "how to cook chicken in a dutch oven" and found this recipe:  French Chicken in a pot.  I tried it last night and it was delicious!...and adding the photo and the recommendations from Cooks illustrated (but you have to subscribe to see the recipe?). (add more oil...the skin came off mine during browning...but I just went with it!)

Chris playing with my phone again:

The state of the kitchen here made me think of this post called "Real Life is Messy".
