One inspiring: "Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening." -Coco Chanel
One funny: "Comfort has its place, but it seems rude to visit another country dressed as if you've come to mow its lawns." - - Me Talk Pretty One Day, David Sedaris, 2000 - -
more appreciators of her style here and here. She goes her own way in life too apparently. I could have used you as a role model, about 17 years ago, if only you were older than me...she's a communist too, Adam! :)
this article in the NY times today (thanks ashlee) about mindfulness had this old story come to mind: Akido in Action: Doing combat with the essence of love by Terry Dobson. I was happy to find it easily on Google...did I find it in this magazine in 1983? I'm not sure, it was a long time ago, but I remember reading it changed my life. The NY times article talks about the pitfalls of mindfulness in a humorous way. What Terry's story illustrates is that mindfulness is merely the open door for love to enter...and that it's love, the demonstration of love, the embodiment of love, that heals. I hope it's a true story...thanks Terry. Photo is from http://www.terrydobson.com/
