Like a diamond in the sky

Simple

These clothes by Uniform Studio,

are so inviting.

Honestly

I wasn't even trying to shop :). I was just on my errands and walked by this place, where they were having a "moving sale" of all their props for advertising. It was like browsing in Gramma's attic.

Though these boots had a sticker price of $70.00, on the inside of the boot, I recognized a Crossroads tag for $15.00! So they very kindly sold them to me for that. Good, because I only had 20 in cash.

I like how beat up and worn in they are already. And they have a rubber sole, too, good for hills and rain. Aren't they great?

Gosh

these are so adorable. They are out of our size 38! They are like the Converse of France, called Bensimon's.

Oh

there were beautiful shadows just as we got off the ferry yesterday evening.

Ashlee,

This is that 2 dollar yard sale vintage blouse I was telling you about on the phone. Oh, the word I couldn't remember is "Toile", for the kind of print. It reminded me of this. I'll wear it belted like that.

More Summer tv

You can watch it online, too. This review on Bitch sums it up well, about having so many of the stereotypes it's message is trying to bust...but the talented cast made the pilot, so far, very enjoyable. It's no Nurse Jackie, true, but it made me laugh.

these cute little jars at Value Village.

and this Jonathan Saunders for Target dress, brand new with tags, and it was a blue tag, half price. It's more about the hunt than the money :).

urban flowers...and their cultured relatives. It's that corner where things get left to give away...where I found this great suitcase that Luke has now.

Last night

the absorption method came to visit again. It is basically cooking pasta in small doses of stock (or water), like the way risotto is cooked, instead of the usual boiling in lots of water method. It does take a bit longer, but the starch from the pasta creates a nice sauce. It was through the Chocolate and Zucchini blog that I learned about this a few years ago...it was this post from 2006, I think. So good! This is corn pasta in the photo. I melted in Marscapone cheese at the end, and of course, Parmesan, adding some cooked brocolli and sausage too.

Electric blue

Hydrangea at the neighbors. Look, a whole book about the color Blue.

I didn't buy this

magazine, but I did snap a pic of this kitchen that looked so beautifully open and simple, yet warm.

The Holy Instant

Finding this 6/13/09 ACIM Study Group SO helpful. Thank you, Paul. (It's a video and takes quite a few minutes to load. It looks really good, Chris!)

He was a dad, a brother, a son...

A sweet tribute

Photo is from The Amateur Gourmet. Read about his sweet tribute here.

They're back!

Still small...in the roundabout, Cardoons. Last year's post about them.

Chris's critters

He loves them so much! The pigeons wait for him to come home in the evening. Tonight the baby squirrel let him pet him.

Joyce Meyer

She's good everyday, but wanted to post this one here. Wow, their video quality looks great. I could watch it on the internet instead of cable! I've watched Joyce for a good 1o plus years on tv. I recently discovered one of my other hero's Anne Lamott does too.

Summer

This field at Seattle Central College looked so summery today, all brown and dry and filled with dandelions. The rustling leaves, the breezes, that old brick building, I don't know, it was a very seasonal feel.

A 20 degree drop in temperature

this evening...a cool breeze made the curtains dance.

Luke...

have you seen this little camera before? It's called the Digital Harinezumi and it takes video that looks like Super 8 and has no sound. Here's a review I was reading. And here is some video.

Beauty and the Beast

This blog post with photo of a beautiful doorknocker makes me want to watch La Belle et la Bete again...the hand held candelabras were my favorite part of this magical film when I saw it a million years ago.

This photo:

Sometimes it's so fun to buy random old photos. Who knows who they are, or what is going on? That is what happened to Holly of Lucitebox.com who found this one. She submitted it to Advanced Style which is where I saw it.

Reading

Went retro and reread this one. Still good.

Just starting this...Ashlee is too.

Picking this up again to refresh, and inspire. The best book on meditation.

Chris accidentally on purpose ordered this one that I must have left in his Amazon box after finding her the first time. What a lovely surprise. I'm loving entering her world!

Advanced Style

Yesterday found the site Advanced Style which is street fashion pics highlighting the more experienced :). One of the links there took me to this blog post about model Daphne Selfe. Great!

Is this the same coat

She crossed my mind the other day:

What happened to adorable Leanne Marshall after she won Project Runway?
